DIFFERENT TYPES OF RIDING BOOTS

STREET RIDING BOOTS

These boots are specifically designed for everyday riding. Street riding boots, which have the least armoured protection as compared to other riding boots, usually have a physical appearance akin to normal boots. The heel of a street riding boot is typically very low, not more than halfan-inch, and the sole both of the heel and foot is rather smooth.

RACING/TRACK BOOTS

As the very name suggests, racing boots (or track boots) are designed for riding a motorcycle on a race track. They are made from a combination of leather, metal, plastic or man-made composite materials. The amount of protection provided in these boots is greater than in other riding boots due to the high risk of injury at high speeds while racing. These boots usually have metal/plastic protectors in places like the shin and heel, etc.

TOURING BOOTS

Quite similar to the racing boots, these boots are specifically designed for the purpose of touring. They offer lesser armoured protection than track boots, since they are intended for the riders on city roads and highways. Touring boots are usually made of leather, which is essential for their longevity when worn in tough conditions on tours.

MOTOCROSS BOOTS

Motocross boots are solely designed for the purpose of offroading. To help prevent the rider’s feet and legs from being injured these boots are much stiffer than the regular motorcycle boots. These off-road boots usually provide protection all the way up to the rider’s knees and a curved plastic plate covers the shin of the boot to protect the rider from flying debris while off-roading.
