Riding for Freedom
Triumph Motorcycles India celebrated the recent Independence Day by organising a ride and promoting a social cause
IT WAS ON A BALMY MONDAY MORNING THAT hundreds of enthusiastic Triumph motorcycle owners from different cities gathered to celebrate the Independence Day by riding to various destinations. The ride was organised by various Triumph dealerships across the country.
Apart from Triumph owners, the ride in Pune saw the company’s MD Vimal Sumbly take part in the ride to promote safety and also to support a noble cause.
The short ride in Pune got under way at the IT hub, Hinjawadi. After the ride, all the riders gathered around the national flag and a proper flag hoisting ceremony took place. On this occasion Vimal Sumbly gave a highly inspiring talk on safety and also spoke about the Smile Foundation’s Girl Child Education initiative under which the Foundation strives to educate the girl child in an effort to ensure a bright future for the country.
Vimal Sumbly said, “It was great to see Triumph motorcycles come together for a noble cause. While we celebrate the 70th year of Independence, it is our responsibility to make our country a stronger independent nation. Triumph Motorcycles’ ‘Ride for Freedom’ is a pledge to empower our girl children by providing them proper education.”
Vikram Singh Verma, COO, Smile Foundation, said, “This is a very heartening gesture by Triumph Motorcycles India to come forward for the cause of providing education to a girl child belonging to the less privileged sections of the society. We would also like to thank all the Triumph motorcycle owners who came forward to support this initiative.”
