THE 10TH EDITION OF GERMANY’S MEGA motorcycle show, the Intermot, which is held in Cologne biennially, is just round the corner and this year a lot of action is anticipated by many of Europe’s finest motorcycle manufactures.

Aprilia will be present at Intermot with their entire line-up and also a super special motorcycle by the Dutch bike builder, Rolf van der Heide, who has built a lightweight carbon-fibre motorcycle around the Aprilia RSV4 engine. BMW are expected to launch two new motorcycles. One of them will be a variation of the G310R platform, probably an adventure variant, which will cater to the growing number of adventure riders the world over. Their second bike could be a bagger-styled K1600. This iteration of the K1600 is aimed at rivalling Ducati’s XDiavel.

We also expect Austrian bike-makers KTM to showcase the new generation of the RC and Duke series. KTM might also use the stage at Intermot to unveil their revamped adventure series, mainly the 1190 and 1050 Adventure models.

We expect the Italian exotic motorcycle manufacturers, Ducati, to unveil their new 900cc sport tourer that was shown to a select media during the recent World Ducati Week.

Honda Motorcycles are expected to surprise the visitors with a new motorcycle, though we don’t really know what to expect from the famous Japanese marque. Apart from Honda, other Japanese manufacturers like Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki are all going to be present at the show as well.

Triumph are expected at the show although there is no news of the British marque coming to Cologne with a new product. We are eagerly looking forward to the show with a view to bringing you an in-depth report of all the happenings.
