Dear Bike India,

Bike India - - TECHNOMAIL -

I am Shiv from Nagpur and I am a proud owner of a Royal Enfield Himalayan. But I have am not really impressed with the way the bike performs. I want to know how I can increase the performance, basically the acceleration without spending much money. I don’t want to modify the engine as it will mean spending a lot of money. Please suggest ways to get better acceleration at minimum cost.

Santosh Tingre, Latur

Dear Santosh, the easiest way, and also the most inexpensive way, is to upgrade to a rear sprocket with more teeth on it. Putting a larger rear sprocket will give the bike better acceleration, however, it will reduce your top speed. There will be no modification as such required to carry out a sprocket change but make sure that you consult a professional technician before making the change as they will be able to tell you about the exact number of teeth required on the rear sprocket as per your needs.
