BMW 9Cento Concept
BMW HAVE UNVEILED AN INTERESTING CONCEPT, called 9Cento (pronounced “nove cento”) and the bike looks quite fetching. The focus of the 9Cento is on achieving a balance among functional properties such as touring capabilities and a futuristic design. The concept is meant for motorways, Alpine passes, narrow alleyways, and village streets; BMW have designed the bike to feel at home everywhere.
The 9Cento has an array of finishes and the paint job is quite striking. The overall design is sleek with design cues from multiple BMW Motorrad models. The ergonomics suggest that the bike is more suited to touring, while its low seat height seems to indicate that the bike can take on any terrain.
For storage, BMW have designed pannier boxes that neatly integrate into the design of the bike rather than sticking out as an accessory. There is an innovative electromagnet under the rear seat that holds the panniers in place.
For now, BMW doesn’t plan on putting the 9Cento into production, however, given the fact that BMW have turned concepts to production models in the past, the 9Cento might just join that list.
