Z400 Waiting in the Wings?

KAWASAKI ARE SOON GOING TO INTRODUCE THEIR 2019 LINE-UP and, according to a document in the United States, there might be a new motorcycle in this line-up. The document mentions two 400-cc motorcycles, one of which is called the ER400DK, which, given the fact that the smaller Z300 was codenamed ER300BG, is a clear indication that a 400-cc Z bike exists and it will certainly be brought to India once it goes on sale in the international markets.

The smaller Z400 will be based on the company’s new Ninja 400, which we have ridden and about which you may read in this very issue. The Z400 will feature the same 399-cc parallel-twin engine that produces 49 PS and 38 Nm. It will also feature the same chassis and suspension. However, the engine will be in a slightly different state of tune. Besides, the styling will be reminiscent of the bigger Z models in the Kawasaki line-up. We expect Kawasaki to reveal the bike at the EICMA show in Milan due to be held in November.
