TVS Racing at Dakar 2020
Our Very oWn tVs rACing made a strong showing at dakar 2020 alongside their partners, the sherco racing Factory team. this was the sixth dakar appearance of the sherco tVs Factory rally team, although they were facing new challenges with the rally moving to saudi Arabia.
French rider Adrien Metge gave the team their best ever finish at the dakar, going through the last stage seventh-quickest to end up in 12th place in the overall standings. this is Metge’s fifth dakar appearance, and his consistency through the gruelling two weeks paid off. French rider Johnny Aubert made it as far as the fifth stage, after which he was 16th in the overall standings, but a crash on stage six put him out of contention. Meanwhile spanish rider Lorenzo santolino made it as far as the seventh stage, but a crash on stage eight saw him retire as well.
young harith noah, the sole indian rider on the squad, bounced back from injury on stage one, but couldn’t start the third stage due to technical difficulties with the motorcycle and, hence, was out of the running for a place on the final leaderboard. however, he soldiered on through the rest of the stages under the new dakar experience class that allows riders that have been forced to retire to continue racing, albeit for stagewise classification rather than overall classification. the young star proved his mettle as he completed every stage right to the end, posting extremely competitive times throughout. he will definitely return next year to challenge the dakar once again.
