Ducati Superleggera V4
yes, it’s priced at €100,000 (rs 85 lakh) and ducati are only making 500 of them. and, sadly, some will never be ridden in anger; instead they will be whisked away into a private collection or bought as future investments. but beyond these negatives, I can’t find any faults. This is a genuine superbike for the road, a machine capable of lapping within a few seconds of a topflight factory race bike and, incredibly, ridden on the road, both legally and easily. on top of that, it looks stunning and has a soul and character of its own. you know what, i’ll get off the fence and pronounce the 2020 ducati superleggera the best production bike i’ve ever ridden.

new larger size, 125/70-17 and 200/65-17, now available in our standard range.
What are the benefits of the new sizes? Stability? Larger contact patch?
the sizes 125/70-17 and 200/6517 slick that equipped the superleggera v4 have been developed to ensure greater contact surface on the asphalt at every bend angle, being able to count on an optimal load pressure per square inch under footprint area. the exclusive process technologies and the design experiences of the profiles developed in years of experience in the wsbk applied to this evolution of structures and profiles have allowed the achievement of a practically perfect balance between manageability, contact feeling, and effective thrust at every angle of lean. the balance thus achieved allows optimal working conditions of the tread compounds which are less stressed and in conditions of expressing their maximum potential with constancy and without performance deterioration. an important aspect of these new tyres to a greater extent is also the better ability to interact with traction control systems, making set-up choices simpler and less invasive. in the same way, the ability to adapt to different cycling configurations is also improved, reducing and simplifying the need for a specific set-up when changing the choice of compound. you will have noticed that at mugello, from the sC1 to the sC0, the adaptation needs were minimal. the experimental work on these new tyres, conducted by the testing Pre-development racing department that i had the honour of directing, together with the astonishing job of our r&d, generated very important opportunities for acquiring method experiences and results which, as always happens at Pirelli, will be immediately available for all products also intended for road use.
