New Royal Enfield 650 Cruiser

-

LONCIN TIED UP WITH THE LUXURY ITALIAN bike maker, MV Agusta, last year. With that announcement, they had confirmed the launch of motorcycles between 350 cc and 500 cc. Recent spy shots of what is likely to be called the “Loncin 500AC” have emerged online.

As we can see, the bike very closely resembles the design language of the Benelli Leoncino 500 with a large round headlight at the front, a wide and raised handlebar, and a tank placed slightly higher up. Sources say that the bike will use the 471-cc, parallel-twin engine which is also seen in the Honda 500-cc CB line-up.

Other details for now are that the bike will sport golden USD forks at the front and a KYB monoshock at the rear, Nissin brakes, all-round LED lighting, and a full-colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. The bike is expected to go into production by mid-2022.

Royal Enfield, the Chennai-based company, has had great success with the 650-cc twins: Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. We can now confirm that they will be launching a new cruiser based on the 650-cc platform very soon.

The new model was recently spotted being tested on the streets. The bike will have a more relaxed and comfortable riding position and will thus appeal to more people. This cruiser will also use the same 650-cc, parallel-twin which might be tweaked slightly to suit the character of the motorcycle.
