Pol’s soft rear tyre was giving up towards the end when Joan and Fabio made a move on him. Heading into the last lap, it was announced that Fabio was given a long-lap penalty for exceeding track limits. He didn’t serve the penalty and was then given a three-second time penalty instead. This divested him of third and put Pol up there. The final standings saw Maverick take the win, followed by Joan and Pol in second and third respectively. As for the championship, there are just four points separating the top four: Dovizioso on the Ducati, Quartararo, Viñales, and Mir.

Championship Standings

Moto2

The Moto2 race only ran for six laps when the rain forced out a red flag. Enea Bastianini of Italtrans Racing had taken the lead and would be leading the pack for the 10-lap race restart. Luca Marini of Sky Racing Team VR46 got into the first place upon restart, but Bastianini aggressively tried to take back the lead when he ran both of them wide. This confusion allowed Xavi Vierge of Petronas Sprinta Racing to hit the front. The championship leader, Marini, started to lose a few spots because of his decision to stick with the hardercompound tyres that he used at the original start. Bastianini managed to gain positions back, put a gap between himself and the rest of the pack and went on to win on home soil. He was followed by Marco Bezzecchi of Sky VR46 in second wth Sam Lowes on the EG 0,0 Marc VDS in third; just 1.124 seconds separating the top three.
