This year’s MrF MMsC FMsCi indian National Motorcycle racing Championship (iNMrC) was cut short with the races being postponed owing to the pandemic, but we witnessed great drama and fast-paced racing at the two consecutive weekends at the MMrT in Chennai.

Pro-Stock 301-400 cc

TVs racing’s K y ahamed from Chennai was declared the champion in the premier Pro-stock 301-400 cc category. he clinched two wins and finished with a tally of 121 points in the championship, just five points ahead of Bengaluru’s anish Damodar shetty (race Concepts). anish won four races but did not finish two races, which cost him the top place in the championship standings. The results for the championship standings were held back on account of a protest regarding the legality of a part used in K y ahamed’s motorcycle, but after the scrutiny, it was declared legal and in line with the prevailing technical regulations.

Pro-Stock 165 cc Open in the Pro-stock 165 cc Open category, Jagan Kumar from TVs racing was declared champion. This is Jagan’s ninth national title, including the 125 cc in 2009 and seven consecutive title wins from 2012 to 2018 in the 165 cc Open class. he finished fourth in the final race, behind Mathana Kumar (eneos honda erula racing), last year’s champion sarath Kumar (raCr Castrol Power racing), and K y ahamed. Jagan won the title with 138 points, just one point ahead of K y ahamed.

Novice (Stock 165 cc)

Mohan Babu, a privateer from Chennai, topped the Novice (stock 165 cc) class as the second and final round of the championship came to an end. This is Mohan’s first national title which he claimed with a total of 123 points ahead of his main rival, Bengaluru’s Ullas santrupt from raCr Castrol Power racing team. Ullas came into the second round with a three-point advantage but did not finish two of the races in the points, thus losing his advantage.

Girls (Stock 165 cc)

Nineteen-year old ann Jennifer (sparks racing) from Chennai rode brilliant races to regain her title in the Girls (stock 165 cc) category with four wins. ann had previously won the title in 2018, but a few disappointing rounds had cost her the championship in 2019. This is her second championship title in this class and she won ahead of the Gusto racing team of Lani Zena Fernandez and arpitha Bhat, who finished in the second and third place in the championship standings respectively.
