-

FOLLOWING THE INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE NEW Indian Chief range, the American cruiser marque has revealed that the 2021 models will be reaching the Indian shores by the second quarter of 2021. These will be imported as completely built-up units (CBU), which means the price would be north of Rs 20 lakh.

The new Indian Chief will be offered in three variants: Dark Horse, Bobber Dark Horse, and the Super Chief Limited. All three are propelled by the same powertrain, an 1,890-cc V-twin that belts out 162 Nm at 3,200 rpm mated to a six-speed gearbox. The premium cruisers come with a host of features including keyless ignition, riding modes, cruise control, and a USB charger, to name but a few. The centrepiece is a new four-inch touchscreen information console which is equipped with satellite navigation as standard.

The three Chief models have distinct styling treatment which set them apart, catering to a wide range of riders. For instance, the Dark Horse has been completely restyled and now sports a more chiselled look without letting go of its old-school charm. Meanwhile, the stylish Bobber Dark Horse can be distinguished with its mini-ape hangers, 16-inch spoked rims, and forward-set foot-pegs. Lastly, the Super Chief Limited has been designed for long hauls, being equipped with a larger handlebar that is easier to reach while a floorboard and a wider pillion seat make it a comfortable highway cruiser.
