BMW R 18 Classic

Following the premiere of the BMW R 18 last year, BMW Motorrad India have now introduced the another version to its cruiser line-up — the R 18 Classic. The new variant is more suitable for cruising than the standard R 18 as it rides on a small 16-inch front wheel, gets cruise control and features multiple touring-oriented accessorie­s. The Classic is based on the standard R 18 and features a large windscreen, saddlebags and LED auxiliary lights at the front.

Moreover, unlike the standard R 18, the Classic comes with a pillion seat, while the 19-inch front wheel is replaced by a 16-inch one. Powering it is the same 1,802-cc, air-cooled engine with an oil-cooler as the R 18, the largest motorcycle boxer engine ever manufactur­ed by the German brand. The gigantic engine produces 91 hp at 4,750 rpm and has a maximum torque of 158 Nm available at 3,000 rpm. The new R 18 Classic has been priced at a whopping Rs 24 lakh (ex-showroom), making it dearer by Rs 4.20 lakh over the standard model.
