Norton-powered Zongshen Cyclone RX6

-

CHINESE MOTORCYCLE MANUFACTURER ZONGSHEN HAS REVEALED THE Cyclone RX6, powered by Norton’s new DOHC, liquid-cooled, 650-cc twin. This motor is set to power the scrambler-styled Atlas Ranger and Atlas No mad in Norton’ s line-up and Zongshen bike thanks to a technology sharing agreement between the two companies.

The motor in the Cyclone RX6 is tuned to make 71 hp, which is less than the 85 hp that Norton claim for the Atlas models, putting it on a par with the Suzuki V-Strom 650 and Kawasaki Versys 650, its main rivals. The Zongshen Cyclone RX6 is built around a tubular steel frame with an aluminium swing-arm and equipment includes Nissin brakes, Bosch electronics, adjustable windscreen, TFT dashboard, and LED lighting. Priced competitively, this machine could do well in India, that is if Zongshen decide to enter our market.
