Bookings Open for 2021 Speed Twin

-

TRIUMPH INDIA RECENTLY TEASED THE REFRESHED, BS6-COMPLIANT Speed Twin on their social media channels, and the company is also accepting advance bookings for this retro roadster. Cosmetic updates on this 2021 iteration include new graphics and revised headlight and front mudguard mounts, but that’s not all.

Triumph have reworked the internals of the 1,200-cc, liquid-cooled twin and, along with complying with BS6 norms, this year’s motor manages to make three more horses for a peak output of 100 hp at 7,250 rpm. Peak torque remains unchanged at 112 Nm, but it now hits 500 revs earlier at 4,250 rpm. This has been achieved by the use of lighter internals, reworked pistons, revised cam profiles, and a new intake system.

The BS4 Speed Twin carried an ex-showroom price tag of just below Rs 9.5 lakh and we expect this year’s bike to be marginally more expensive, but still below the Rs 10-lakh (ex-showroom) mark. Watch this space for more.
