Scooters Head to the Mountains

A cool group of ladies takes on the mountains on scoots

Anotion generally prevalent is that a scooter is a domestic vehicle meant only for local commuting. its power and its immense capabilities go unrecognized most of the time, but a scooter can perform beyond our imagination if we care to find out.

MotoFashion india, a sister concern of Milestone Enterprise, the pioneers of photo tourism, has invoked a different dimension to this humble vehicle. At MotoFashion india, we have taken the initiative to change the mindset of people regarding their scooters: from a mere commuter machine to something they have never imagined, to go out and enjoy the pleasures of riding their scooters.

to set the ball rolling, we took four women on their maiden scooter trip to the “mecca of riders”, Ladakh, the land of high mountain passes and rugged terrain which also happens to be the ride of a lifetime for every rider out there. now, many may ask, why on a scooter? Well, the answer is as follows:

travelling on a scooter is a fun and easy way to explore the captivating landscapes and experience Mother nature as you can stop and ride whenever and wherever you want

You have the thrill on two wheels, but get to travel a little slower and in a relaxed manner to experience all the sights, sounds, and smells of your surroundings on a much deeper level

our guided scooter tour is open to anyone, both new and seasoned riders, men or women, and with or without any motorcycle experience

tours are operated by Vinayak Pawaskar and Debojit Roy, who are in tour operations for over two decades now. they are avid scooter adventurers having the unique distinction of being the first to ride a gearless scooter from sea level (Mumbai) to the highest motorable road in the world, Khardung La (18,380 feet) in Ladakh

now picture this — you on a scooter, a winding stretch of the most dramatic scenery you have ever witnessed, terrain which offers an endless supply of curving roads, breathtaking views of

the spiritually wondrous land overflowing with cultural treasures, monasteries, rugged mountains, and natural beauty. ‘We were awestruck in Ladakh’. this is what the four aforementioned ladies — Ms Archana Khanande, Ms Shubhangi Deshmukh, Ms Renuka Khanande, and Ms Gayatri Khanande — had to say about their maiden trip to Ladakh.

their scooter adventure started from Jammu and took them across some of the most breathtaking locations like Srinagar and Sonmarg and challenging terrain like Kargil– Leh–nubra–Pangong–Pang–Sarchu, and Manali before the culmination of their trip in Chandigarh, having clocked nearly 2,000-plus kilometres in 10 days.

if we talk about the sheer adventure on this trip, you would be overwhelmed to know that the ladies scaled some of the world’s highest mountain passes of the world on their scooters.

So, you too can ride on your scooter to go places. it is really easy, thrilling, and fun. Start doing more with your scooter rather than just doing those mundane commutes.
