One Lakh Ola Electric Scooters Booked

-

WHEN BHAVISH AGGARWAL, CEO OF RIDE-HAILING MAJOR OLA Cabs, announced that their first electric scooter could be booked for an initial amount of Rs 499, over a lakh of buyers logged on to the company website to reserve a piece of the new EV.

The buzz is that the e-scooter is likely to have a range of around 150 km and will be able to charge from 0 to 50 per cent in about 18 minutes, which would be enough for a 75-km range. The electric scooter is likely to be equipped with a non-removable lithium-ion battery which should take about six hours to charge fully from your home electric outlet. Performance is expected to be of industry standard, which should translate into 0-45 km/h in less than four seconds and a top speed of close to 80 km/h. These numbers should make the Ola Electric scooter a decent city ride.

The Ola Electric scooter will be offered in 10 vibrant colour options, including matte black, matte pink, yellow, white, red, silver, grey, and bright blue. Alloy wheels and front disc brake are part of the package too. The electric scooter will also boast of a fully digital console, key-less start through your smartphone and the Ola Electric app, and ample under-seat storage which seems capable of accommodating two helmets.

Ola Electric will launch the electric scooter in the coming months, the expected price being Rs 1 lakh.
