KTM, Honda, Yamaha, Piaggio Agree to Share EV Batteries

-

ITALY’S PIAGGIO GROUP, AUSTRIA’S KTM, AND JAPANESE GIANTS Yamaha and Honda have agreed to promote standardized swappable batteries for their electric two-wheelers. An agreement to this effect has been signed among these motorcycle manufacturers to create a Swappable Batteries Motorcycle Consortium in a bid to help achieve economies of scale faster and further develop electric mobility for the masses. This move also opens up the possibility of quick-swap battery banks that can service a wider range of brands and models and provide an option to users who don’t have easy access to a charging point.
