Honda Mini ADVs Launched Abroad

-

WHILE BEGINNER ADVENTURE RIDERS IN INDIA WILL HAVE TO BE CONTENT with the CB200X, which is basically a Hornet 2.0 with adventure-inspired bodywork, Honda have launched the better-equipped CRF190L for the Chinese market. While powered by the same 184-cc, single-cylinder motor that does duty in the Hornet and the CB200X here, the CRF190L boasts of long-travel suspension, spoked wheels, and dual-purpose tyres, making it a lot more versatile and capable in the rough stuff than its Indian-market cousin.

While China gets CRF190L to encourage youngsters to get off road, Honda have launched an even better entry-level adventure bike in Brazil, in the form of the XRE 300. The bike is available in Adventure and Rally variants and is positioned to take on machines like the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Yamaha XTZ 250, both of which are extremely popular in South America. At its heart is a 291-cc, air-cooled single that breathes through a DOHC head and puts out 26 hp and 27.5 Nm of torque. This machine would be ideal for Indian off-road enthusiasts, although we don’t foresee Honda bringing it to our shores any time soon.
