Yamaha Launch R15 V4 and Aerox 155 Scooter

-

YAMAHA HAVE TAKEN THE WRAPS OFF THE FOURTH ITERATION OF THEIR POPULAR entry-level sport bike. The 2021 YZF-R15 gets a front end inspired by the recently launched twin-cylinder YZF-R7 and a host of tasty updates, including the long-overdue USD fork, a quickshifter, Bluetooth connectivity, and even traction control.

Yamaha have also, for the first time, introduced an exclusive M variant of the new R15 which gets a unique paint scheme, blue wheels, and golden calipers to tell it apart.

The new YZF-R15 version 4 is still powered by the familiar 155-cc, four-valve, liquidcooled motor which turns out 14.2 Nm of torque and 18.4 hp of peak power. With exshowroom prices starting at Rs 1.68 lakh and going up to Rs 1.79 lakh, this R15 is a bit more expensive than its predecessor, but the added features and hardware do seem to be worth the price increase.

Alongside the R15 V4, Yamaha India have also brought us their first maxi scooter, the sportily designed Aerox 155. The Aerox 155 is powered by the same 155-cc fourvalve motor from the R15, albeit detuned to make 15 hp and 13.9 Nm, and it will take on the Aprilia SXR 160 for sporty scooter stakes in our market. Features include a smart motor generator for quiet starts, a start/stop system, LCD rider interface, and 24.5 litres of under-seat storage space. Ex-showroom prices start at Rs 1.29 lakh.
