Ducati DesertX
This retro-styled adventure motorcycle is absolutely drool-worthy and one we can’t wait to get our hands on. With its sleek proportions and twin-pod headlamp, the DesertX looks all set to take on the Dakar challenge. There’s a 937-cc Testastretta V-twin borrowed from the Multistrada, but tuned to produce slightly lower output of 110 hp and 92 Nm, with shorter gearing that make it ideal for off-roading. A massive 21-inch front wheel in combination with an 18-inch rear wirespoke one aid the adventure character further, along with 230mm (front) and 220-mm (rear) suspension travel and a ground clearance of 250 mm. Apart from the price tag, what most of us Indians might find out of our reach is the incredible saddle height of 875 mm. You also get a five-inch TFT display with the option of Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes, and a host of electronics. Obviously, it’ll demand premium pricing, though we won’t be complaining too much if it costs around Rs 15 lakh.
