Suzuki Katana

-

We’ve been waiting for Suzuki to take the wraps off the Katana since they showcased it at the Auto Expo 2020. It looks like it might finally happen this year. After the Hayabusa, Suzuki are eager to shake up the Indian performance bike segment and Katana is the ideal weapon of choice.

The 2022 version was unveiled at EICMA, Milan, recently which has been updated to make it a more compelling offering. The new version gets revised valve springs, intake and exhaust camshaft, airbox, and exhaust. This has boosted the power figures by two hp, taking it to 150 hp now. The standard kit also includes up-and-down quickshifter, ride-by-wire throttle, and new ride modes. Suzuki have also tinkered with the traction control system and slipper clutch to make them better than before. There’s a new digital display as well.

There’s no official word as yet about the India launch, but sources say that the Katana will slice through the country’s big bike market with a sticker of Rs 13 lakh (estimated).
