Affordable Bajaj e-Scooter

-

Bajaj Auto are among the first traditional two-wheeler manufacturers to enter the EV space. Like the Ather 450 range, the Chetak is a premium offering and costs Rs 1.41 (lakh) after the FAME subsidy. The logical business plan is to come up with a more competitively priced product which can compete with the start-up which, with their clever marketing and tempting product features, has been gaining huge popularity.

No surprise that eagle eyes have spotted a new, more affordable e-scooter being tested along with a bunch of Chetaks in Pune. We expect the new scooter to sport a more youthful design. Unlike the Chetak, it comes with a front apron-mounted headlamp, a split seat, and a fibreglass body (not steel). It will use less expensive parts like the switchgear and even offer simpler features to keep the cost in check, though the powertrain is likely to remain unchanged.
