Revitalised Classic

- — Ramnath Chodankar

It has been a while since I used a long-term motorcycle and I am glad that I got back on that wagon with the new Royal Enfield Classic 350. To begin with, the paint scheme of this motorcycle is brilliant. The interplay of vibrant red and generous chrome is elegant, befitting a retro-modern motorcycle. My experience with the previous generation of this motorcycle was limited, but it became evident right away that this is a marked improvement.

The instrument console has trip meters, a fuel-gauge, and even a clock, along with Royal Enfield’s tripper navigation (I’m waiting with bated breath to use this one). From my time with it thus far, there is nothing to complain about the ride and handling. I do not think twice before taking the Classic into the chaos of narrow streets because it is that easy-going. It is also remarkable how one can ride it within the city without having to shift gears frequently. A more detailed report about my everyday use will follow soon along with the first service experience.
