Mansukh Mandaviya steps in as Chairperson of Stop TB Partnership Board
Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya has taken charge as the Chairperson of Stop TB Partnership Board. The minister will hold the responsibility until 2024. He will lead the efforts of the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat, partners, and the TB community at large, towards reaching the UN TB targets by 2022, a milestone moment in the effort to end TB by 2030. Former Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan was earlier appointed as the Chairman of the Stop TB Partnership Board. Soon after the cabinet reshuffle, this change was announced. The Stop TB Partnership is a unique international body with the power to align actors all over the world in the fight against TB. The participation of a wide range of constituencies gives this global body the credibility and the broad range of medical, social and financial expertise needed to defeat TB. The Partnership’s vision is a TB-free world.
