American Association of Neurological Surgeons honours Dr BK Misra
Dr BK Misra, Head of the Department of Surgery and Division of Neurosurgery & Gamma Knife Radiosurgery, PD Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Mumbai received the International Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) at its Annual Scientific Meeting 2021 in Orlando recently. He is the first Indian ever to be bestowed with this award. Dr Misra is the Honorary President of Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons (AASNS), is the first Vice President of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), and President of the World Federation of Skull Base Societies, all leading international neurosurgical societies. Dr Misra was the first to execute Image-Guided Aneurysm Microsurgery globally and the first in South Asia to perform Gamma Knife Radiosurgery.
