Masimo brings out new de­vice for pa­tient mon­i­tor­ing

Masimo has launched its new Rad-97 Pulse CO-Oxime­ter, fol­low­ing 510(k) clear­ance from the US Food and Drug Ad­min­is­tra­tion (FDA), to non­in­va­sively and con­tin­u­ously mon­i­tor pa­tients. In­te­grated with No­moLine capnog­ra­phy and non­in­va­sive blood pres­sure (NIBP) mea­sure­ment from SunTech Med­i­cal, the new de­vice fea­tures Mo­tion and Low Per­fu­sion SET pulse oxime­try, as well as rain­bow tech­nolo­gies.

Rad-97 has a stand­alone mon­i­tor with a high-res­o­lu­tion, multi-touch colour dis­play de­signed for ad­vanced

cus­tomis­abil­ity, con­nec­tiv­ity and de­vice in­te­gra­tion. The de­vice in­cludes a recharge­able bat­tery that lasts for about four hours and an op­tion for teth­er­less de­vice trans­port, al­low­ing its use even with­out ac­cess to power and in lim­ited space.

Rad-97’s built-in WiFi ca­pa­bil­ity al­lows a wire­less con­nec­tion and trans­fer of cap­tured pa­tient data to hos­pi­tal elec­tronic med­i­cal record (EMR) sys­tems. The co-oxime­ter is com­pat­i­ble with ex­ist­ing nurse call sys­tems and also sup­ports pointto-point Blue­tooth con­nec­tion with se­lect de­vices such as ther­mome­ters, glu­come­ters, and weight scales.
