The sys­tem lever­ages a uri­nal­y­sis dip­stick that mea­sures ten pa­ram­e­ters as­so­ci­ated with var­i­ous in­fec­tions, chronic ill­nesses and preg­nan­cyre­lated com­pli­ca­tions. Pa­tients can scan the dip­stick using their smart­phone cam­era. em­bed­ded com­puter vi­sion and ma­chine learn­ing in its sys­tem to ac­cu­rately read the re­sults and de­liver them to pa­tient’s clin­i­cian via an app.

Siemens and ex­pect the new at-home test­ing op­tion to be con­ve­nient for pa­tients, thereby im­prove com­pli­ance with CKD mon­i­tor­ing.
