TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS AND STANDARDS AT THE MOMENT TO DOCUMENT AND VERIFY TRAVELLERS’ HEALTH STATUS
● IATA Travel Pass: In Feb 2021, the International
Air Transport Association announced the launch of its new digital travel pass for resuming quarantinefree international travel. The app, which is being tested by 30 carriers, will allow governments and airlines to collect, access and share encrypted information related to passengers’ COVID-19 test and vaccination status prior to travel.
● Common Pass: created by the World Economic Forum and The Commons Project; Successful trials among Hong Kong and Singapore, London and New York, Hong Kong to Los Angeles
● AOK Pass: a digital QR code passport developed by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International SOS and the SGS Group. Successful trials took place on flights last year between Abu Dhabi and Pakistan, and subsequently from Rome to New York, to Singapore from Indonesia and Malaysia, Paris, Abu Dhabi, and few of Europe.
● IBM’s Digital Health Pass : DHP solution that’s now being tested by the state of New York
● The Mvine-iProov passport: created by biometrics firm iProov and cyber security group Mvine and backed by Innovate UK
● Accenture’s APAC travel and hospitality division, has been working with some major airlines on their digital health pass strategies, including three in the U.S. and several across Asia- Pacific.
● Scan2Fly: Malaysia Air Asia’s digital health pass in partnership with analytics company GrayMatter. Technology has already launched on routes from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, Surabaya, and Jakarta.
● Amadeus IT Group, S.A. is a major Spanish IT provider for the global travel and tourism industry. Amadeus is integrating its health passport solution with health information aggregators, including CommonPass developer the Commons Project Foundation, which is backed by the World Economic Forum. These platform aims to provide a global coverage partnering with regional airlines.
● Covid-19 Credentials Initiative: a coalition of over 300 individuals which aims to set standards for vaccine certificates
● Vaccination Credential Initiative: a coalition of health and technology partners including Microsoft, Oracle and The Commons Project
● Verifly: Daon’s digital health passport app which is currently being used by British Airways and American Airlines
● CLEAR Health Pass: US based, CLEAR mobile app connects verified identity using CLEAR’s established biometric platform with health insights; Debuted in May 2020 to provide businesses and consumers with Covid19 immunity credentials
