Kamlesh Kumar Pant takes charge as NPPA Chairman in India
Kamlesh Kumar Pant, a 1993-batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the administrative arm of the All India Services of Government of India, has been appointed as the chairperson of the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) by the Appointments Committee of the Union Cabinet of India. NPPA is the agency in charge of monitoring pharmaceutical pricing. Pant, formerly the Principal Secretary (Revenue) in the government of Himachal Pradesh and also the Financial Commissioner (Appeals) at Himachal Pradesh and the head of the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board, has taken charge of NPPA with immediate effect. He has taken over the charge from Shubhra Singh, who was the chairperson of the pharmaceutical pricing agency since 2018.
