‘EXPECTING TO SEE MANY INDUSTRY-ACADEMIA PARTNERSHIPS AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES’

-

“Considering the recent growth of the biotech industry, post-pandemic scenario, and how India is making its mark globally in the healthcare sector, we can expect to see a lot of opportunities for the skilled youth in the biotech sector in 2022. Hiring skilled freshers is already a preferred choice among recruiters, but in 2022, we can expect to see it becoming the norm due to the tremendous pressure with which pharma and biopharma companies are operating. With more work currently happening on the vaccine front, there is no doubt that Regulatory Affairs will be one of the most sought-after programmes in the biotech sector. We’ve launched a first-of-its-kind certificate programme in Global Regulatory Affairs in partnership with JSS AHER at Biocon Academy where students are taught the required industry skills along with the needed professional skills, negotiation skills, project management, stakeholder management and technical writing skills. Many biotech companies are slowly starting up training centres to offer skill training for the students. With the backing and support of the Government of India through initiatives like Skill India, we can expect to see a lot of industry-academia partnerships and skill development programmes in 2022.”
