ASIA PACIFIC PUBLISHING AWARD
BioSpectrum India recently won international recognition at the Asia Pacific Publishing Awards (APPA) 2018. The award ceremony was held at One Farrer Hotel Grand Ballroom, in Singapore on November 8, 2018.
BioSpectrum India won the Silver Award under the ‘Special Edition of the Year’ category for its coverage on ‘BioSuppliers’ ecosystem for life sciences industry’. The story ‘India needs proper BioSuppliers’ ecosystem’ published in the September 2017 issue covered varied aspects of biosuppliers sector. It discussed and explored how this market will drive the growth of pharma and allied industry in the coming years with increase in healthcare awareness and spends, demand for quality healthcare, rising burden of diseases, automation, hospital laboratory management, expansion of pathology diagnostic market to towns and rural areas.

The awards were judged by a panel of six, consisting of veterans in the creative field, public relations and media publishing. They are James Lim, Creative Director of Hakuhodo, Dean Carroll, Publisher of Mumbrella Asia, James Hewes, President and CEO of FIPP and David Tay, former President of Photographic Society. Lynda Williams, Managing Director of Vim & Vigour, was one of the only 2 judges retained from last year’s panel, together with Marina Mathews.
Now in its 12th year, the Media Publishers Association Singapore (MPAS) Awards lauds local publications and individuals for their remarkable contribution in pushing for relevant content and campaigns, and embracing innovation in the media industry. The APPA awards is organised for the first time for Asia Pacific region’s media brands.
