BioSpec­trum In­dia re­cently won in­ter­na­tional recog­ni­tion at the Asia Pa­cific Pub­lish­ing Awards (APPA) 2018. The award cer­e­mony was held at One Far­rer Ho­tel Grand Ball­room, in Sin­ga­pore on Novem­ber 8, 2018.

BioSpec­trum In­dia won the Sil­ver Award un­der the ‘Spe­cial Edi­tion of the Year’ cat­e­gory for its cov­er­age on ‘BioSup­pli­ers’ ecosys­tem for life sciences in­dus­try’. The story ‘In­dia needs proper BioSup­pli­ers’ ecosys­tem’ pub­lished in the Septem­ber 2017 issue cov­ered var­ied as­pects of biosup­pli­ers sec­tor. It dis­cussed and ex­plored how this mar­ket will drive the growth of pharma and al­lied in­dus­try in the com­ing years with in­crease in health­care aware­ness and spends, de­mand for qual­ity health­care, ris­ing bur­den of dis­eases, au­toma­tion, hos­pi­tal lab­o­ra­tory man­age­ment, expansion of pathol­ogy di­ag­nos­tic mar­ket to towns and ru­ral ar­eas.

Saradha Mani, Op­er­a­tions Man­ager, MM Ac­tiv Sin­ga­pore Pte ltd, Sin­ga­pore re­ceived the award from Alex Cano, Hon­orary Trea­surer, Me­dia Pub­lish­ers As­so­ci­a­tion Sin­ga­pore (MPAS) and owner and pub­lisher of Rus­sian Sin­ga­pore mag­a­zine. BioSpec­trum is a lead­ing B2B me­dia pub­li­ca­tion in life sciences and health­care space in In­dia and pub­lished by MM Ac­tiv Sci-Tech Com­mu­ni­ca­tions, Pune. It has two edi­tions, BioSpec­trum In­dia for In­dia and BioSpec­trum Asia for APAC area pub­lished from Sin­ga­pore.

BioSpec­trum In­dia was launched in March 2003 and is In­dia’s first and com­pre­hen­sive life sciences busi­ness monthly mag­a­zine. It pro­vides com­pre­hen­sive cov­er­age of the ex­cit­ing hap­pen­ings in life sciences, which in­clude Phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal, Health­care Bio­Pharma, BioIn­for­mat­ics, BioIn­dus­trial, BioSup­pli­ers and BioSer­vices and show cases the emerg­ing In­dian en­trepreneur­ships in life sciences in­dus­try. In a short time BioSpec­trum emerged as the most pre­ferred plat­form to en­gage the life sciences in­dus­try in In­dia and Asia Pa­cific. It is also widely ac­cepted by re­search and academia com­mu­nity. Top key pol­icy mak­ers in the Cen­tral and state gov­ern­ments use the mag­a­zine as a plat­form to reach out the In­dian Biotech In­dus­try. The awards were judged by a panel of six, con­sist­ing of vet­er­ans in the cre­ative field, pub­lic re­la­tions and me­dia pub­lish­ing. They are James Lim, Cre­ative Di­rec­tor of Hakuhodo, Dean Car­roll, Pub­lisher of Mum­brella Asia, James Hewes, Pres­i­dent and CEO of FIPP and David Tay, former Pres­i­dent of Pho­to­graphic So­ci­ety. Lynda Wil­liams, Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of Vim & Vigour, was one of the only 2 judges re­tained from last year’s panel, to­gether with Ma­rina Mathews.

Now in its 12th year, the Me­dia Pub­lish­ers As­so­ci­a­tion Sin­ga­pore (MPAS) Awards lauds lo­cal pub­li­ca­tions and in­di­vid­u­als for their re­mark­able con­tri­bu­tion in push­ing for rel­e­vant con­tent and cam­paigns, and em­brac­ing in­no­va­tion in the me­dia in­dus­try. The APPA awards is or­gan­ised for the first time for Asia Pa­cific re­gion’s me­dia brands.

John Thet, newly elected Pres­i­dent of the me­dia as­so­ci­a­tion said, “The MPAS and APPA Awards rep­re­sent the best of in­dus­try prac­tice in pub­lished me­dia – whether it is in print, on­line, or across a va­ri­ety of plat­forms.”

The awards cer­e­mony was at­tended by over 35 pub­lish­ing com­pa­nies and 180 stake­hold­ers in the in­dus­try. PressReader was the of­fi­cial spon­sor of the cer­e­mony.
