Sports meet held at Kashmir University
Srinagar, April 18 : A meeting of the Physical Directors of all affiliated colleges of the University of Kashmir was convened on at Gandhi Bhawan to foster a sports culture within the college university community.
Chaired by Dr. Mandeep Singh, Director DPE& S, the meeting provided a platform for Physical Directors to exchange insights on current challenges and opportunities in cultivating a vibrant sports culture on campus. Physical Directors presented innovative ideas to engage students in various sports activities, improve existing facilities, and enhance the overall experience for sports enthusiasts at the university.
Dr. Mandeep Singh conveyed that the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nelofar Khan, desired increased participation from different colleges and assured her full support for the promotion and Development of sports.
The primary agenda was to collaborate on framing the Annual Sports Calendar for the academic year 2024- 25 and gather suggestions for enhancing sports culture and talent development.
Participants actively discussed ways to promote sports excellence, improve infrastructure, and nurture talent in the region.
The goal is to encourage maximum participation from all colleges in upcoming inter- college tournaments, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical well- being among students.
The meeting resulted in lively discussions and brainstorming sessions to identify potential sports events, tournaments, workshops, and training programs.
The University of Kashmir aims to provide students with ample opportunities to showcase their skills, build camaraderie, and excel in sports.
Dr. Mandeep Singh expressed gratitude to all participants for their commitment to enhancing the sports ecosystem.
The collaborative efforts of Physical Directors and Sports Incharges are expected to result in a dynamic and engaging Annual Sports Calendar for the academic year 2024- 25, emphasizing talent development, infrastructure improvement, and maximum participation in inter- college tournaments. The finalized calendar will soon be released to the public, showcasing the diverse range of sports activities that students can look forward to participating in during the Inter College tournaments. The outcomes of the meeting will inform the development of a comprehensive plan for promoting and developing sports infrastructure and culture on campus. The university of Kashmir remains committed to creating a vibrant sports community that empowers students to excel in sports and lead active lifestyles.
