Prof Prem Vrat Joins as Vice Chancellor of ITM University, Gurgaon

Prof Prem Vrat, Professor of Eminence, Management Development Institute Gurgaon, Former Vice Chancellor, UP Technical University Lucknow and Founder Director IIT Roorkee, joined ITM University Gurgaon as Vice Chancellor and Professor of Eminence on 1st September 2011. Prof Prem Vrat’s appointment follows an extensive national search. He succeeds Late Prof R.K Singh, a scholar, academician and administrator maestro. An accomplished professional, Prof Prem Vrat has very high credentials. He has provided distinguished leadership to IIT Roorkee as Founder Director (Decmeber-2001 to May 2006) which was widely recognized and appreciated. His subsequent three-year tenure as Vice Chancellor UP Technical University led to a wider brand acceptance of UPTU resulting in quantitative expansion from 286 colleges/institutions in 2006 under UPTU affiliation to 600 colleges/institutions in July, 2009, an achievement of profound significance.
