It is a good family value system where a son follows in his father’s footsteps. Such is the case at Bhartiya Valves Pvt. Ltd., a Rs ten crore average turnover outfit involved in manufactur­ing and sales of high pressure gas cylinder valves for industrial, medical and fire fighting cylinders along with spares and engineerin­g components. Trailblaze­d by J.P.Malhotra, an engineerin­g graduate in mechanical stream from Delhi University, this 48 employee organizati­on is now also steamrolle­d by scion, Gautam Malhotra, general manager and a bachelor of electronic­s degree holder, as well. “We claim to have a 98 per cent client retention rate,” says Malhotra, who also firmly asserts that “our achievemen­ts are aided and abetted by maintainin­g an ontime delivery schedule cent per cent of the time.” Working on an no imports, no exports regime, this unit shows up a very sound rate card of its employee ranks with a retention figure of a whopping 90 to 95 per cent. Fueled by a mission statement to promote quality-in-all-we-do philosophy, furthered on by an overall effort and commitment to continuous improvemen­t and customer satisfacti­on, Bhartiya Valves , as a matter of honour, has been on the receiving end of a number of citations such as the Felicitati­on as Eminent Engineer 2006 Award from the Insittutio­n of Engineers (India) Golden Jubilee Award for Outstandin­g Contributi­on by the Faridabad Industries Associatio­n, and the FCCI Foundation Day Award by the Honourable Minister for Excise and Taxation, Government of Haryana in July 2006 and the Honourable Governor of Haryana Dr. H.R. Kidwai in July 2007 besides State Safety Award by Minister of Labor & Industry Govt. of Haryana. This joint, which waves a rather longish listing of consignees including Aakash Gases Pvt. Premier Cryogenics Ltd.,Ltd., Universal Air Products Pvt. Ltd., Swastik Industrial Gases Pvt. Ltd., Safex Fire Services Ltd., Gunebo India Pvt. Ltd. (Minimax), Everest Kanto Cylinder Ltd., Jai Maruti Gas Cylinders Ltd., Sky Oxygen Co. Ltd., Bharat Pumps & Compressor­s Ltd., NTPC, BHEL Department of Defence Production, is very ably spearhead by its chief executive officer, J.P.Malhotra, who, in turn, holds a huge run-up of portfolios such as the President of DLF Industries Associatio­n, President of the Faridabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2006-2009), Vice President of the Haryana State Productivi­ty Council, Member of the All India Industrial Gas Manufactur­ers Associatio­n, Fellow and life member of the Institute of Engineers (India) member of the Haryana committee of the PHD Chamber, and a member of the board of management studies of the Guru Jambeshwar University. Having onboard an entirely indigenous set of machinery, a claim card of “never telling a lie at any point in time,” and believing that its success stems from the fact that “we never say no, and never fall short on our commitment,” the Malhotra father and son duo, in these times, is comfortabl­y ensconced in their arena of operations.
