Inaugurating the Yoga Day celebrations, the Principal Prof (Dr.) Karanjit Singh shared the words of Hon’ble Prime Mininster Shri Narendra Modi. He reiterated that Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient traditions. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well - being. It is undoubtedly a scientific process leading to our physical, mental and spiritual development. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. Thereafter Dr. Karanjit Singh introduced Mrs. Indu Sharma to the participants. Currently she is pursuing PhD in Yoga from Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole University Jaipur. With regards to Yoga and Naturopathy Mrs Sharma has done YCC (Yoga Certificate Course) and YTTC ( Yoga Teachers Training Course). She has done her NDDY (Diploma in Yoga and Diploma in Naturopathy) from Vinobha Ashram Vadodara. She is currently an honorary member of Rajasthan Swasthya Yoga Parishad working at Yoga Bhawan Yoga and Naturopathy Centre Jaipur. She explained the true meaning of being healthy and the routine of human beings to include correct Aahar, Vihaar and Karya. The session begun with a Vandana (prayer recital) by Mrs Indu Sharma. This was followed by a warmup session comprising on the spot jogging, foot movements etc. While conducting the warming up session Mrs Sharma gave out the importance of this mandatory activity before practicing the asanas. Thereafter under her guidance and demonstrations, volunteers practiced various asanas as per the protocols given by the Ministry of AYUSH. This included standing, sitting, prone and spine postures followed by Shavasna. The benefits of practicing each of the asanas and contraindications were mentioned while performing each one of them. Towards the end Anulom Vilom and Bhramri Pranayam was conducted which was so rejuvenating for the senses. Mrs Indu Sharma concluded the

session with Omkar chanting and a resolution for the well-being of mankind and a prayer to the almighty to bless the participants with the day to be one of the most auspicious day in their lives. Thereafter the participants interacted with Mrs Indu Sharma to clear their individual problems and obtained valuable tips and suggestions related to health. The celebrations culminated with a light satvik breakfast comprising pohas, veg sandwiches and green tea. It was indeed a memorable day in the life of most of the participants who were exposed first time to this wonderful practice. The feedback given by most of them was that such sessions should be conducted more often in future.
