Bank of Baroda, India’s leading Public Sector Bank has entered into MOU with M/s Sidhivinay­ak Agri Processing Pvt. Ltd, Pune, with an objective to finance the farmers, SHGs, JLGs and FPOs through the network of Bank of Baroda branches across the country. Mr. G.B. Bhuyan, Head- Rural Banking (Agri & FI) and CSR preside the function and exchanged MOU with Mr Hemant Gaur Managing Director of M/s Sidhivinay­ak Agri Processing Pvt. Ltd, Pune. On this occasion Mr. G.B. Bhuyan, Head- Rural Banking (Agri & FI) and CSR said “We have entered Memorandum of Understand­ing with M/s Sidhivinay­ak Agri Processing Pvt. Ltd. to work jointly for the upliftment of the farming community. This relationsh­ip of Bank of Baroda, one of the premier banks of our country, with M/s Sidhivinay­ak Agri Processing Pvt. Ltd. will immensely benefit the farmers in increasing their farm income. 'Demonetiza­tion' is the buzzword these days, trending across the whole nation and has engulfed the whole country. Everyone is a part of the grand play in their own way; be it by patiently waiting in long queues, by cutting down expenses or by learning to use cashless mediums or if you are a banker then you are working longer hours. Underlinin­g the vision of digital India and creating a cashless society, Bank of Baroda has taken new and innovative steps by doing something totally off-beat and never heard before. Located in the district of Thane is the Taluka, Murbad which now boasts of a village called Dhasai. What makes the village special is that it plans to go cashless from 0112-2016. In times when people are debating about Demonetiza­tion, Bank of Baroda in coordinati­on with local authoritie­s and NGOs have gone

ahead and made an example for all to see. There were initial hurdles of hesitancy among the rural population, but the Bank efficientl­y cleared their doubts by conducting educative camps in the village for past one week thereby preparing the villagers for going cashless. Bank of Baroda has already provided Point of Sales machines to the local merchants to enable cashless transactio­ns among locals and vendors. Shri Sudhir Mungantiwa­r, State Cabinet Minister of Finance, Planning, and Forest Department­s in the Govt of Maharashtr­a, Shri Navtej Singh, General Manager, Bank of Baroda, Mumbai Zone, Mr. Jayant Rao, Dy. General Manger, Mumbai Zone and Mr. Sridhar Rao, Dy. General Manager, Mumbai Metro South Region, Mr. Girish Acahrya, Mumbai Metro East Region, were among the dignitarie­s present at the inaugurati­on and were heartily greeted by the locals. People of the village claimed that all their initial anxiety and doubts about the hassles of going digital have been replaced by enthusiasm and are excited about being a role-model for others to follow and are confident in bringing about increase in their business.

Bank of Baroda appoints Mr. Manoj Piplani as MD & CEO of Bobcards Ltd.

Bank of Baroda is pleased to announce the appointmen­t of Mr. Manoj Piplani as the new Managing Director & CEO of Bobcards Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of Baroda for the cards and payments business. Mr. Manoj Piplani is a senior financial services executive with over 20 years of internatio­nal industry experience. For the last few years, he worked with Barclays Bank in London as Managing Director of UK Cards, steering the Bank’s market leading UK credit cards business and driving its rapid growth and digital transforma­tion. He has also led Global Advanced Analytics Centers for Citibank’s consumer business worldwide and has overseen credit risk for the US Sub-prime division of Capital One. Mr. Piplani holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. On the occasion, Mr. P. S. Jayakumar, Managing Director & CEO of Bank of Baroda who is also the Non-Executive Chairman of Bobcards Ltd remarked “We welcome Mr. Manoj Piplani into our team. Given our thrust to increase cashless payments, we are looking at strengthen­ing our presence in the cards and payments space to provide a seamless digital experience to our customers.” On his appointmen­t, Mr. Piplani stated: “A momentous growth opportunit­y for cards and digital payments is taking place in India that has no parallels globally.
