Surpassing All That One Has Set Out To Accomplish

Business Sphere - - FREIGHT FORWARDING - By Our Correspondent

Setting benchmarks in whatever one does is easy to talk about, but difficult to do. Such is the very happy co-incidence at V.S. Bhagwati Shipping Pvt. Ltd. Set up in 2007 as an international freight forwarder, this company provides a diverse range of services like custom clearance, international freight forwarding, transportation services, warehousing services, liaison services and indenting. Incidentally, this firm is also involved in imports of spices and nuts. Says the amiable managing director of this company, Mr.Vinod K. Sharma, very assertively, “we are one of the leading custom houses and freight forwarding agents today.” Incidentally, transport services via all four modes of rail, road, water and air are offered here. The consignments are picked up from any and every location asked for by clients and these are delivered literally at the doorstep of the final destination. The clientele list of this company includes coveted names like Carrefour WC & C India Pvt. Ltd., “Uno Minda” Minda Industries Ltd., Business Standard Ltd., AGH Altech Pvt. Ltd., Starke International, Lucky Machines Pvt. Ltd., Balaji International, Sterling Publishers Pvt. Ltd., Lee Designs (Ahemdabad), Sorbead India (Baroda), Medisurg International (Baroda), Acrysil Ltd. (Bhavnagar), Zydus Industries (Baroda) and Saksham Impex Pvt. Ltd. Set up with an initial investment of Rs 25,000 in the year 1996, this unit is also aided and abetted by the presence of Mr. Vaibhav Sharma, scion of Mr Vinod K. Sharma. Operating from three nodal points of Belapur, Delhi and Gurgaon, this company has registered a growth rate of a sizeable 40 percent in the last few years. Working on the steam of about 35 employees, this firm also has obtained the CHA and FAAAI certifications. “We have logged in an employee retention rate of more than 80 percent,” say the Sharma duo proudly. In addition, the father and son combo also claim that “we have clients who have been associated with us since our initial days.” At V.S. Bhagwati Shipping Pvt. Ltd., the prediction is to “do about 500 containers each month within the next one year or so.” Also, the Sharmas hope to rake in turnovers of about Rs 50 crore within the next two to three years. In addition, plans are afoot for them becoming single point service providers in their niche of work expertise. Several moves are on the anvil for this vision to turn into a reality. For one, the workforce is being pummelled up. Also, they hope to establish their presence in Baroda, Mundra, Chennai and Orissa as soon as is possible. In addition, setting up overseas offices in the USA and Australia are very much in the pipeline. Sharma strongly believes that “dedication to work, filial support and hard work have helped us achieve our present position in the market.” With such an ethics-oriented base of core pillars on which this company rests, it will be no surprise if they even surpass all they have set out to accomplish.
