John F. Kennedy Internatio­nal Airport ( IATA: JFK, ICAO: KJFK) refered to as JFK is an internatio­nal airport located in Jamaica, Queens, in the south-eastern portion of New York City. It is about 12 miles southeast of Lower Manhattan. JFK Internatio­nal Airport is operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which manages the three other major airports in the New York metropolit­an area, Newark Liberty Internatio­nal Airport, LaGuardia Airportand Teterboro Airport. Terminals 1, 2, 4 and 5

Terminal 1 - Opened in 1998. It has 11 gates (from 1 to 11) and the terminal building has 4 levels: arrivals, mezzanine, departures and concourse level. The terminal is able to handle Airbus A380.

Informatio­n Terminal 1

The current Terminal 1 was opened in 1998, at the direction of the Terminal One Group, a consortium of four key operating carriers: Air France, Japan Airlines, Korean Air and Lufthansa. This partnershi­p was founded after the four airlines reached agreement that existing internatio­nal carrier facilities were inadequate for their needs. Terminal 1 is able to handle Airbus A380 aircraft and together with Terminal 4, has the capacity to carry the superjumbo aircraft. Transporta­tion between terminals By the AirTrain system is fairly easy to transfer between terminals at John F. Kennedy Airport, since all airport terminals are connected to its network. Trains frequency is of 2 – 5 minutes. You can also connect to the parking lots, hotel shuttle and rental car facilities. In order to take the AirTrain at any of the airport terminals, you’ll first need to go through security. Within JFK Airport Terminals the AirTrain system is free. Opening hours: 24 hours. Levels - Terminal 1 has 11 gates (from 1 to 11) and the building is composed by: Arrivals Level, Mezzanine,

Departures Level, Concourse Level. Arrivals Level: Has the following services and amenities: Baggage Claim, Customs, Restrooms, U.S. Immigratio­n Control, Ground Transporta­tion Informatio­n Point, ATMs, Currency Exchange Service, Hotel/Hostel/Motel Courtesy Phone. Wi-Fi is accessible through all the terminal. Ground Transporta­tion available: Car rental, AirTrain Station, Bus Stops, Taxis, Parking. Mezzanine Level: There are located the Airline Clubs. Departure Level: There are the Check-in desks. Concourse Level: There is the security check-point, the Airline Clubs and the boarding gates from 1 to 11.

Transporta­tion between terminals

By the AirTrain system is fairly easy to transfer between terminals at John F. Kennedy Airport, since all airport terminals are connected to its network. Trains frequency is of 2 – 5 minutes. Levels It has two levels: Arrivals Level and Departures Level. Arrivals Level: has access to the ground transporta­tion (taxis, bus stops, car rental and the parking lots), there is an informatio­n point, the baggage claim, hotel/ motel courtesy phones. Departures Level: It has the check-in desks, the security control and the 11 boarding gates: from C60 to C70. Wi-Fi is accessible through all the terminal. Airlines Delta (Domestic) - Terminal 2.
