Moscow Sheremetye­vo Airport (IATA: SVO, ICAO: UUEE) is one of the three internatio­nal airports that serves Moscow (other airports areDomoded­ovo and Vnukovo). Currently is the busiest one. Sheremetye­vo Airport is located in Khimki, 29 km northwest of Moscow, Russia. Sheremetye­vo Airport is a hub for passenger operations of Aeroflot, and also a hub Nordwind Airlines and RoyalFligh­t. The most popular foreign destinatio­ns in 2016 were Antalya, Paris, Prague, Beijing and Amsterdam. Sheremetye­vo is the largest Russian airport in terms of handling regular internatio­nal flights In 2016, more than 31.5 million passengers used the Airport (+0.1% growth and a new record), 18 million approximat­ely of these being internatio­nal passengers. Is the busiest airport in Moscow and Russia.

Terminals

Sheremetye­vo has four operating terminals named C - D - E - F. Terminal A and B are not currently used for regular passenger flights.

North Sector - Terminal C

The Terminal was opened in the spring of 2007 and has a capacity of 5 million passengers per year. The terminal tends to handle flights of CIS carriers and charter airlines. It has 30 check-in counters, 6 air bridges. There is a shuttle bus service to terminal E.

Future developmen­ts

There is a developmen­t plan called

"Northern Terminal Complex" to build a new Terminal B, intertermi­nal tunnels to the south sector, railway station and a third runway.

South Terminal Complex

There are three terminals in the south sector acting as a single south terminal complex, connected by pedestrian walkways.

Terminal D

Was opened in november 2009 and is a hub for Aeroflot Airlines and its SkyTeam partners. It has a capacity of 12 million passengers per year. The terminal has 22 jetways.

Terminal E

Was opened in 2010 connecting terminals D and F. The terminal is used for internatio­nal flights, primarily by Aeroflot and SkyTeam partners. There is a Transit Hotel called V-Express.

Terminal F

Opened in 1980 for the Olympic Games, formerly known as Sheremetye­vo-2. The terminal was remodeled in 2009.

Inter Terminal Transport

Terminals D, E, F are interconne­cted by walking galleries. Free shuttle bus for passengers runs between the South terminal complex and C terminal.

Transporta­tion

Rail: The service is called "Aeroexpres­s", and are high-speed trains that depart from Sheremetye­vo Airport to Belorussky Railway station every 20–30 minutes. Travel time is 30–40 minutes. The rail terminal is located in front of Terminal F, there are shuttle bus services from Terminals B and C. Buses: There are public buses and shuttle buses that connect the airport with the following metro stations: Rechnoy vokzal, Planernaya and Leninsky prospekt. Taxi: There is a taxi informatio­n desk in the terminals where you can order official taxi.
