With Manikarnika breaking the 100 crore (115 crore to be exact) mark within two weeks of Kangana Ranaut's first directorial venture one knows why the controversy queen Kangana Ranaut does not need supporters in the Bollywood fraternity. Her debut directorial venture dealing with the life of the Queen of Jhansi has been embroiled in one controversy after another and Bollywood maintaining a shocking silence over the success of the film but the fact remains that it is the second Bollywood film to get into that section with her in the lead. The glass ceiling was broken by 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' where she essays a double role, a continuation of the highly popular 'Tanu Weds Manu.' Known for her outspokenness Kangana was the first heroine to demand a pay parity with the male counterparts in cinema. The argument given by the film industry to justify this disparity was that only the heroes were giving super hits at the box office. She proved them wrong by giving a 100 + crore film 'Tanu weds Manu Returns'. Deepika Padukone (Padmavat) and Alia Bhatt 'Razee) are the other two heroines who have crossed into that barrier so far. But Kangana would be the only heroine to feature twice in a such a venture. Her latest film has been embroiled in controversy as Krish who was supposed to be the solo director has chosen to tell everyone that midway during the making of the film she took over the entire project and also reduced the roles of her co-stars. Instead of wasting time giving explanations the four time National Award winner has chosen to chill out by going skiing in the Swiss Alps. The actress's team took to Instagram to share a short video of her skiing prowess."Skiing to glory!!! Reel #Manikarnika #KanganaRanaut basking in the success of # ManikarnikaTheQueenOfJhansi," the caption read. Apart from breaking records in India the film had crossed the $2-million mark on foreign shores within five days is its release. But despite the controversies if Prasoon Joshi, who is the dialogue writer and lyricist of the film is singing peans in her praise we know why she is unconcerned about the controversies.

Said Prasoon Joshi In a tweetthat apart from delivering an "outstanding performance", she has "elevated the film to another level through her direction and commitment". "Let not any controversy take that away from her," he added. In a career beginning with Anurag Kashyap's 'Gangster' in 2006 the feisty heroine has given 32 films in 12 years of which four have fetched her the National Award and several Filmfare and other awards. The Filmfare awards she bagged are the Best Female Debut for Gangster, Best Supportng Actress for Fashion, Best Actres for Queen and Best Actress -Critics for Tanu weds Manu Returns. However she deliberately avoids going to the private award functions as she thinks they are manipulated. In an interview she revealed that she was not allowed entry into one such program because she got stuck in traffic. She says that earlier she was very excited to know that she was getting an award because it would add to her Wikepedia count but now she is proud of only her National Awards. For any person in her position it would be impossible to remain normal. But she maintains her sanity despite all that has happened and been said to her and about her ,especially after her direct confrontation with Rithik Roshan. Despite such experiences she says that basically she trusts people even after getting cheated and would like to reman like that. "I would rather get hurt than become cynical." And at the same time she remains totally grounded and real. Even when prompted by channel anchors that her roles in films like 'Queen' or 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' have turned her into a blazing feminist she says she is not a feminist per se because she does not understand what she has to do as a feminist. Her dialogues in 'Tanu weds Manu Returns' like 'Doctor sahab hum Zara sa bewafa kya huey Aap to badchalan Ho Gaye" and her acting prowess make her films watchable again and they would remain a golden part of the Film Archives. She is known for not mincing words not only about her alleged affair with Rithik Roshan buy also about her female co-stars in Bollywood. Talking about the latest heart throb Alia Bhatt she told the media that she had watched the trailer of Raazi sent to her by Alia Bhatt not because it was a Karan Johar film or a Salman Khan film but because it was about Sehmat Khan, a girl who gave her life for the country. Kangana added that she spoke to Alia and Meghna Gulzar ‘for halfan-hour’ after she watched Raazi but when it was their turn to support her, “there was no response from anyone.” She has spoken out similarly in public against Anushka Sharma and Sonakshi Sinha in the past because diplomacy is not in her DNA. However the Queen of Bollywood has endeared herself to millions of fans because of her bluntness and of course her acting prowess which places her in an entirely different class among the present lot of heroines. It is because of these qualities that she got the best compliment of her life when about a fortnight back the gorgeous Rekha , also known for her Bindas life style told Kangana at a Marathi Gaurav program that if she had a daughter she would be just like her.
