IMI New Delhi was set up in the year 1984 and is india’s first corporate sponosred business school. Set up in collaboration with IMD lausanne (then called as IMI) it soon carved a niche for itself and was able to establish itself as a knowledge repository and training ground for aspiring managers. Initially the focus remained on training programmes directed to all levels of managers. Later, it started the full time one year programme that still continues to thrive. With the changing scenario of business and how it was conducted the need of the hour was to explore more rigourous programs which resulted in lauch of the two year programme. IMI New Delhi graduated its first set of post graduate management students in 1988. The alumni of IMI have done extremely well for themselves and have risen to apex positions in reputed and globally acclaimed organizations. Many of them have become highly successful entrepreneurs and created wealth not just for themselves but for others as well. We are extremely proud of our alumni, they are our brand ambassadors, and they are the ones who give credibility to our claims of being an institution of excellence.

IMI attract high quality students of the country in our post graduate management programs including our doctoral program. In addition, we also attract a large number of international students through our collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, as partners in their ITEC program. Students come to IMI for the quality of our faculty and the recruitment and entrepreneurial opportunities after they graduate. The academic rigor and intense industry engagement throughout the program, transform our students into excellent managers and future leaders making them highly sought after by big companies as well as start-ups.
