Modi in Tokyo: India-Japan may finalise nuke deal today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday landed in Tokyo for a three-day visit, where India and Japan are likely to sign 12 agreements, including one on civil nuclear cooperatio­n. Progress is also likely on cooperatio­n in the defence sector, trade and investment, skill developmen­t and infrastruc­ture developmen­t. There is also a likelihood of India purchasing 12 US-2 amphibious aircraft from Japanese manufactur­er ShinMaywa Industries worth $1.6 billion.
