Maharashtra largest consumer of low-price biscuits

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal consume most of the lowprice high nutrition biscuits (LPHN) in the country each year, an industry body has said. Of the total 3600,000 tonnes of biscuit consumed in the country annually, Maharashtra has emerged as the largest consumer of LPHN biscuits, according to Biscuits Manufacturers Welfare Association. Maharashtra led with an annual consumption of 190,000 tonnes of glucose, Marie and milk of LPHN biscuits every year, it said.
