WHAT NARENDRA MODI SAID DURING THE UP ELECTION CAMPAIGN

-

At a public meeting in Ghaziabad: “It is my promise to you that I will get work done for the benefit of the state. Shouldn’t someone fight against corruption? … As long as you don’t punish such government, the fight against corruption will not end.”

At a rally in Mau: “You (Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party) might be thinking that in case of a hung House, you will get a chance to bargain, but the people of UP have shown you in the Lok Sabha polls, by ensuring a full majority to BJP, and in these elections, they will ensure that BJP wins with a huge margin.”

At a public meeting in Aligarh: “It is a pity that the very locks that made Aligarh famous are being used to shut the lock factories.”

At a meeting in Lucknow: “Akhilesh Yadav says his work speaks for itself... the UP government website admits life in UP is short and uncertain and that in this respect UP resembles Saharan Africa.”

At a public meeting in Deoria: “We will waive farmers’ loan in our first Cabinet meeting after the results of the UP polls on March 11. We will clear all bakaya (due) amounts of sugar cane farmers within 120 days. Now the debate is on whether BJP will get two-thirds or three-fourths majority in UP Assembly polls.”

At a rally in Basti: “If you create kabristaan (graveyard) in a village, then a shamshaan (cremation ground) should also be created. If electricity is given uninterrupted during Ramzan, then it should be given during Diwali without a break. Bhedbhaav nahin hona

chahiye (there should be no discrimination).” At a rally in Maharajganj: “People have made BJP victorious in the five phases that took place; you only have to give us a bonus in the sixth and seventh phase.”
