PM Modi’s packed home visit
PrimeMinisterNarendraModiisinhishomestate,Gujarat,on Mondaytoinaugurateseveralprojects,includingahospitalinSurat andSumulDairy’scattlefeedplantinTapidistrict.ThePMisalso scheduledtoinauguratePhase-IoftheSAUNI(SaurashtraNarmada AvataranIrrigation)project.ProvidingdetailsofModi’sscheduled visit,BJPMPfromSurat,CRPatilsaid,“ModiwouldlandattheSurat airportontheeveningofApril16,wherewewillgivehimagrand welcome.Nextmorning,hewillinaugurateKiranHospitalin KatargamareaofSurat.”Thehospitalhasbeenbuiltatacostof~400 crorebyatrust,hesaid.
PMModiwouldthenheadtoBajipuravillageintheneighbouring Tapidistricttoinaugurateacattlefeedplantandanicecreamplantof SuratDistrictCo-operativeMilkProducers’Union,popularlyknownas SumulDairy.“HewillalsoaddressalargegatheringatBajipura.We expectthatover300,000womenwouldturnupforthismegaevent,” SumulChairmanRajubhaiPathaksaid.Accordingtohim,thePMhad performedtheground-breakingceremonyoftheprojectin2014 duringhistenureastheGujaratchiefminister.
