Export Assessment Cell inaugurate­d at JNCH

With the ever increasing volume of export at nhava sheva, the biggest containeri­zed port in India, a new initiative has been taken in the form of Centralize­d assessment cell for export, with the objective of trade facilitati­on. The Export Assessment Cell was formally started functionin­g after being inaugurate­d by Shri Sravan Kumar, Commission­er, Nhava Sheva, Mumbai Customs. This shall be located at Speedy CFS, JNCH with the central facility of assessment of Export cargo. This central cell has been created with the future objective of 24 x7 Export assessment too. This will be divided into 5 groups with each group headed by the officer of AC/DC rank. At present for Export assessment, the facility is available at Dronagiri and Punjab Conware with one Asst Comm at each place whereas the proposed cell will have 5 officers at the rank of AC/DC. During the program members from the trade remained available in large numbers. They especially thanked to the initiative being taken by Chief Commission­er Shri John Joseph. The trade whole heartedly reflected their gratitude to Shri Subhash Agrawal, Commission­er, Nhava Sheva who is pioneer of this concept and caused to issue more than 100 Public Notices, entailing the trade facilitati­on on various subject matters, in recent past. It was highlighte­d that Centralize­d assessment cell would lead to cut down the export time and avoid needless queries from exporters too.
