D-MART IN 50 MOST VALUABLE CLUB

Shares of Avenue Supermarts (D-Mart) touched their all-time high of ~1,018 on the BSE on Thursday, before closing at ~994.45, up 0.5 per cent from the previous close. This made the retailer the 46th most-valued company on the bourse, with a market capitalisa­tion of ~62,062 crore. With this promoter Radhakisha­n Damani ( pictured) is now the ninth richest Indian, according to the Forbes Real Time Ranking of Indian billionair­es. Since the IPO in March, with shares priced at ~299 a piece, the value of Damani’s stake in Avenue Supermarts has gone up from ~15,339 crore to ~51,015 crore, a gain of ~24,461 crore.
