Honor 9i: The four- eyed performer

- UTTARAN DAS GUPTA

How many cameras does one need to take apicture? Huawei says four. Its competitors— Oppo, Vivo and to some extent As us—believe that people primarily buy smart phones to takes el fies, and the company does not want to take any chances. Their latest device, Honor9i, hasnotjusttwo, butfour cameras. Both the 16 MP rear camera and the 13 MP front camera is paired with a 2 MP camera, each. The secondary cameras are for bokehs hot s or depth effects. There’ s also an LED flash at the back and a softs elfie flash in front.

This would have been enough, butHuawei has carved a niche for themselves in the market by relentlessly producing well-performing devices. The smartphone has the look and feel of a premium device. The smooth metal back has a matte finish and the front is a glossy black 2.5 D glass screen. Unfortunately, there is no smart charging option.

The phone run son its own EM U I 5.1 interface, which is based somewhat on the Android 0.7 Nougat. It also allows you a single-hand mode, which is quite useful on the 18:9 aspect ratio .( This is also the company’ s first smartphone with full HDandt he 83 percent screen-to-body ratio is quite impressive.)

Performance wise, the phone is at par with its competitors. It’ s powered by oct a-core K ir in 659 So Canda 4GB RAM. For every day use, itruns quite smoothly. But if you start playing graphic intensive games, it does lag. There’ s nothing ground breaking about the device, but at this price point, Honor 9 i is definitely one of the best devices in the market.
