No BS-IV vehicle registrations after June 2020: Draft rules

The government has come out with a draft notification to amend Central Motor Vehicles Rules to prevent registration of BS- IV compliant automobiles built before April1,2020, beyond June 30, 2020.

In a major step to curb vehicular pollution, the government last year decided the country will leap frog directly from Euro-IV-emission norms for pet roland diesel to Eur oVI standards from April 1,2020.

Issuing draft notification to amend Central Motor Vehicles Rules, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has invited objections and suggestions from stakeholders, affected persons and public.
